Description

Product description

Pythia, the Oracle of Delphi, was a high priestess of Apollo in the ancient city of Delphi, Greece, active from around 8th century BCE to 4th century CE. She delivered prophecies while seated on a tripod, inhaling ethylene vapors from a fissure beneath the temple. Pythia held a laurel branch and a bowl of water, symbolizing her connection to Apollo, the god of prophecy, music, and healing. Her cryptic messages were interpreted by priests. Delphi, known for the Temple of Apollo, was a major religious hub. The statue captures her serene, mystical presence, embodying the ancient world's fascination with divine insight.
