Description

Product description

This bonded bronze statue represents Amun, the ancient Egyptian god of air, creation, and the unseen. Depicted with a muscular physique, a tall plumed crown, and a scepter, Amun was revered as the "King of the Gods." His worship peaked during the New Kingdom (c. 1550–1070 BCE), especially in Thebes (modern Luxor), where he merged with Ra as Amun-Ra, the sun god. His influence spread to Nubia and even Greece. Temples like Karnak in Egypt and Jebel Barkal in Sudan were major centers of worship. Over time, his prominence declined with the rise of other deities, including Osiris and Isis.
