Description

Product description

This bonded bronze statue portrays Hercules (Heracles in Greek mythology) battling the multi-headed Hydra, a pivotal scene from his Twelve Labors. Hercules is depicted wielding a club, wearing the iconic Nemean lion’s pelt as a cloak, symbolizing strength and resilience. The Hydra, with its serpentine heads, represents one of his most challenging tasks, as it regenerated two heads for each one severed. Guided by wit and strength, Hercules ultimately succeeded by cauterizing the wounds. His labors, which included slaying the Nemean Lion, capturing the Golden Hind, and cleaning the Augean stables, symbolize overcoming insurmountable challenges through perseverance and ingenuity.
