Description

Product description

This bonded bronze figure portrays Heimdall, the watchman of the gods, blowing his Gjallarhorn to signal Ragnarok. Adorned in detailed armor, he stands vigilant with his sacred rooster, Gullinkambi, symbolizing his ever-watchful nature. Heimdall, son of Odin, was worshiped in Scandinavia during the Viking Age (8th–11th century) and earlier Germanic times. Guardian of Bifrost, the rainbow bridge to Asgard, he possessed extraordinary senses—able to hear grass grow and see for miles. Revered for his role in Norse eschatology, Heimdall’s legacy faded with Christianization but lives on in folklore and modern interpretations of Norse mythology.
