Description

Product description

The figure of Apollo, cradling the lyre , captures his profound connection to the creative and expressive facets of human culture. The lyre, with its beautifully crafted strings and frame, is not just an accessory but an extension of Apollo himself, representing the divine harmony that he brings to the world through music, poetry, and art. According to myth, the lyre was originally created by the young god Hermes, who fashioned the first lyre from a tortoise shell and sinews. In a mischievous act, Hermes stole Apollo’s cattle, and when Apollo discovered the theft, he was enraged. However, upon hearing the sound of the lyre, Apollo was so enchanted by its harmony and the potential of music that he made a bargain with Hermes. In exchange for the return of his cattle, Apollo accepted the lyre, thus becoming its master.
