Description

Product description

This mask is inspired by representations of Hercules (Heracles in Greek tradition), one of the most revered heroes of antiquity. Such masks draw their origins from ancient Greek religious, theatrical, and decorative traditions, where heroic faces were used to invoke protection, virtue, and moral strength. The imagery of Hercules was especially powerful, symbolizing triumph through endurance, as told in the myths of his Twelve Labors.

Masks of this type reflect artistic conventions that developed from the Archaic period and matured during the Classical and Hellenistic eras, roughly between the 6th and 3rd centuries BCE. They were commonly used across mainland Greece, particularly in regions such as Attica and the Peloponnese, and later throughout the Greek-influenced Mediterranean world.
