Her fierce stance, with one knee raised and an intense gaze, reflects her transformation from a victim of divine cruelty to a symbol of vengeance. Once a beautiful maiden, Medusa was cursed by Athena after being desecrated by Poseidon in her temple. Turned into a Gorgon, her gaze petrified all who met it. Ultimately slain by Perseus, Medusa’s head became a powerful weapon. Her story symbolizes divine injustice, resilience, and the complex relationships between mortals and gods.
