Description

Product description

This exquisite collection of Greek mythology figures is displayed on a boulder-style base, representing the Olympian gods who ruled over ancient Greece. Each deity played a crucial role in mythology and was worshiped in different regions throughout history.

At the center stands Zeus, the king of the gods, ruler of Mount Olympus, worshiped at Dodona and Olympia. His wife, Hera, goddess of marriage, had major sanctuaries in Argos and Samos. Athena, goddess of wisdom and war, was venerated in Athens, where the Parthenon was dedicated to her. Poseidon, god of the sea, earthquakes, and horses, was honored in Corinth and Cape Sounion.

Hephaestus, the god of fire and craftsmanship, had temples in Athens and Lemnos. Hestia, the virgin goddess of the hearth, was revered in every Greek home and city-state. Ares, the war god, had cults in Sparta and Thrace. Artemis, the huntress and goddess of the moon, was worshiped in Ephesus and Brauron.

Hermes, messenger of the gods, was honored in Arcadia and Olympia. Demeter, the goddess of agriculture, was central to the Eleusinian Mysteries. Apollo, god of prophecy and the arts, had a renowned sanctuary in Delphi. Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty, was worshiped in Cyprus and Corinth.

This collection beautifully captures the power and influence of the Olympian gods.
