This stunning bonded bronze collection showcases key figures from Greek mythology, displayed on an ancient Greek-style tiered tower. Each character embodies a distinct aspect of myth and was worshiped across Greece.
At the pinnacle sits the Taurus of Knossos, representing the Minotaur from Crete’s labyrinth legend. Flanking it are Fortuna, Roman counterpart of Tyche, goddess of fortune, and Justice (Dike), who upheld moral order.
On the second tier, Hecate, goddess of magic and crossroads, was revered in Anatolia and later Greece. Hygeia, daughter of Asclepius, symbolized health and had sanctuaries in Epidaurus and Athens. Asclepius, the divine healer, had a major cult at Epidaurus. Persephone, queen of the underworld and goddess of rebirth, was worshiped in Eleusis.
The base tier features the Minotaur, the half-man, half-bull of Crete’s myth. Hestia, goddess of hearth and home, had temples in Delphi and Olympia. Hebe, goddess of youth and cupbearer to the gods, was venerated in Phlius. Pan, the wild god of nature, was honored in Arcadia. Lastly, Heracles (Hercules), the legendary hero, was celebrated throughout Greece, especially in Thebes.
This collection beautifully encapsulates the myths, worship, and cultural significance of these figures in ancient Greece.
