The elegant proportions, arched handle, and sculptural attachments exemplify the technical mastery achieved by northern Greek workshops in the late 6th century BCE.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1467\" data-end=\"1627\">Emerging from the rich funerary culture of Derveni, this form stands as a testament to the artistry and symbolic power embedded in ancient Greek ritual objects.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1467\" data-end=\"1627\">Metal vases are far more rare than their ceramic counterparts because fewer were made and because the metal deteriorated or was melted down. Only about half a dozen complete bronze neck-amphorae are known. The side handles served for pouring, the swinging bail for lifting and carrying.
